Summer Reading Program
- Description:
- The Friends of the Marfa Public Library will host a free children's reading program that focuses on the popular children's novel James and the Magic Peach by Roald Dahl and its adaptation to film.
The program is suitable for children ages 6 through 12 and will run from 10am till noon Monday through Thursday during the weeks of July 19 and July 26 at the Marfa Public Library.
Call the Marfa Public Library at 432-729-4631 to enroll your child. Registration deadline is July 9.
DJ Camp

- Get ready to skratch! If you have ever wanted to learn to DJ, come to Ballroom Marfa's 2010 DJ Camp, covering all the basics of mixing/scratching. Ballroom Marfa is working with Austin's DJ Big Face, one of the creative forces behind DJ Dojo, to offer a week-long DJ Camp for Marfa Jr/Sr High School students. This free camp runs July 19 to July 23, every day from 11 am - 1 pm, ending with a student performance on Friday July 23 from 5-7 pm - all events at the Capri (across from Thunderbird Hotel). And for those of you who are no longer students, we'll offer a one-night, all-ages class on Tuesday, July 20 from 7-9 pm. Space is limited, so sign up at [email protected] or call 432.729.3600!
