The Annual Hotel Paisano Sweetheart Ball is scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2011. This year the proceeds of the ball will benefit two animal welfare organizations in our area, Grand Companions Humane Society and ROMP (Responsible Ownership of Marfa Pets). Put on your best thrift store finery (tails optional, faux fur only please) and dance the night away to the Ron Thielman High Society Orchestra.
The festivities begin at 8 p.m. with the opening of the popular silent auction. You can bid on fantastic items from local businesses that include delicious dinner s, massages, fine gift items and a stay in the best local hotels. Luscious sweets on the dessert table will be donated by our finest area chefs and restaurants. A complimentary drink of wine, beer and soft drinks will be available during the evening.
The best thing about the evening is that it will benefit these two worthwhile organizations. Grand Companions Humane Society located in Fort Davis has a beautiful new facility dedicated to the care and adoption of homeless animals from our area. ROMP has made its mission to help facilitate spay/neuter surgeries for pets owned by low-income owners in Presidio County. The two organizations will split the proceeds earned by such a fun and romantic event. What a wonderful way to celebrate love!
