Description: | Marfa artist Takako Tanabe will show new sculptures and drawings at Fancy Pony Land beginning this weekend. Please join us for an opening reception Sunday May 2nd from 6-8pm. Refreshments will be served Takako's recent "milk crown" sculptures focus on small miracles that are ignored or missed every day. By recreating water drops hitting a surface into static three-dimensional figures, she attempts to bring the missed moment back to the world to make it fuller. In her two-dimensional works, Takako has been working with multiple images of "unhappy speech balloons" for the past six years. By drawing them repetitiously and continuously, she hopes that elements missed in communication and dialogue in life make marks in time. The exhibit will be on display through June.
