Chinati's Summer Art Classes

Description: Started in 1992, this program is designed to meet the needs of area school children in Kindergarten through eighth grades. The series, offered and fully subscribed every summer, is taught by experienced instructors both from Texas and outside the area who draw upon the foundation's collection and facilities to enrich classroom and studio activities. Chinati's Summer Art Classes are free to all participants.



This year's classes will be offered to students entering Kindergarten through 8th grade, and taught for the fourth year by Michael Roch, as well as other local artists and educators.

Classes meet Monday through Thursday, June 14 through July 1.

Students entering Kindergarten and 1st grades: 9-10 AM
Students entering 2nd-4th grades: 1-2:30 PM
Students entering 5th-8th grades: 3:30-5 PM
The first day of classes, Monday, June 14, all sections will meet at the above times at the Chamberlain building in downtown Marfa. All remaining classes will take place at the former Ice Plant building.
