The Marfa Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to a Christmas Tree Lighting Party and Shop Local Evening on Thursday, December 16 beginning at 5:30pm.
We will have a very tall tree on the courthouse lawn decorated with large ornaments made by Marfa students. There will be refreshments and music. Santa will be there too - so bring your camera. Hope you will join in the fun!
Following the tree lighting, Marfa businesses will stay open late (until at least 9pm) for shopping and visiting. The chamber of commerce encourages residents and visitors to SHOP LOCALLY to support businesses owned by our friends and neighbors

John Boatright from the FAA office in Lubbock always presents an entertaining seminar on aviation safety.
The annual FAA FAASTeam aviation safety seminar venue moved (just this year) from Fort Davis to the Hotel Paisano.
Pilots, Student Pilots and aviation enthusiasts from Fort Davis and Alpine will also attend so this annual gathering is a chance to meet the Big Bend area aviators.

The second in the 2010 series of marketing workshops in collaboration with Sul Ross State University will take place on Friday December 17, 2022 at the Sul Ross State University Natural Resource Center with registration starting at 8:00 a.m. in room 130. Rob Hogan, Texas AgriLife Extension District Economist along with Dr. Jimmy LaBaume will present a day of marketing geared toward the success of the farmer and/or rancher. Topics will include: Commodity Futures Trading Techniques, Hedging for Producers and Processors, Hedging Strategies and Techniques, Introduction to Option on Agricultural Commodity Futures Contracts, and Option
Trading Strategies for both Producer and Processors as well as Speculators.
This workshop will be a great opportunity in an informal atmosphere to ask questions from specialists to assist you in the future. RSVP by December 13.
